From Landlord to Tenant - did I make the right decision to start a new business? — reposted to medium
Just a few weeks ago I was Vice President at one of the world’s largest real estate developers. Now I’m their smallest tenant. It feels a bit weird.
For the last twelve years, I’ve believed in a better way to plan BIM (Building Information Modeling) and I’ve had the privilege to work with many of the best people in the BIM space.
I’ve been fortunate on my journey to be able to validate, test and improve many Lean BIM concepts from around the world. I believe that the improvements made and the lessons our teams have learned should not be restricted to the few projects that our team members now work with directly.
I decided to create a new BIM software startup crafting a solution to improve our design planning, management and controlling workflows. I called it LOD Planner.
So far the team is having fun being laser focused on optimizing what we’ve learned and is excited to be able to provide the same opportunity to everyone worldwide.
I remind myself that I could never have done this as a real estate developer.
I love the energy in our office and the challenge of breaking new ground.
It’s feeling good to be a tenant. It’s good to be moving forward…
